Defense and Energy Sector Oversight in Moldova

From February 20-23, 2023, the House Democracy Partnership (HDP) engaged the National Assembly of Moldova on strengthening parliamentary initiative and legislative oversight of the energy and defense sector. The technical assistance consultancy (TAC) engaged with parliamentary leadership, including the Vice President of the Moldovan Parliament as well as members of parliament (MPs) and parliamentary staff, to underscore the importance of exercising oversight and advancing legislation that safeguards Moldova’s independence, for which energy and defense are two critical and basic conditions for the country. The HDP delegation consisted of experts in energy and defense who have worked closely on these issues while serving as staff in the House of Representatives, as staff members from the HDP commission.
