February 2, 2024
Recent Activity

From January 31 to February 2, 2024, the House Democracy Partnership engaged with the Parliament of Sri Lanka in Colombo, focused on strengthening the research capabilities of the parliament. The program partnered with the Parliamentary Research Division (PRD) staff and staff from various committees of the Sri Lankan Parliament. The leadership of the Parliament Secretariat welcomed the delegation and provided opening remarks and members of the HDP delegation provided an introduction to the structure, functioning, and processes of the Congressional Research Service (CRS). The discussion encompassed CRS's research report production through data collection, analysis, writing, and presentations, along with best practices in information sourcing and synthesis. Further programs focused on policy and bill analysis as well as best practices for responding to research requests from Parliamentarians.
